B range in ESP catalog serves the role of a backbone series. It is the largest, the most popular and the most populated series. It addresses the widest audience and is, in a way, synonymous with terms ESP (LTD) and four strings (though a number of five and six-string basses are available. In that sense, it could be compared to Ibanez Sound Gear line. B series offers a huge variety of models and among 2016 NAMM updates, B series models are the most populous. B-206SM is a low-cost six-string beast with bolt-on construction, streamlined B series styling and passive/active electronics.
First off, the double-cut body is made of ash base and spalted maple top, and is paired with a five-piece neck made of maple and rosewood. 24-fret fingerboard which covers the neck is also made of rosewood. It features extra jumbo frets, dot inlays, 2.12" molded nut and 15.75" radius.
Pickups section rocks a pair of passive ESP Designed soapbars - SB-6B in the bridge and SB-6N in the neck. They are controlled through a standard set of knobs and switches (volume, balance, three-band EQ). Top-load bridge and LTD tuners complete the specs list.
