Ever since its introduction in the early `60s, Jazz Bass has been one of Fender`s best-sellers, as well as one of the main pillars of popular music. Millions upon millions of players, both professional and casual, have practiced, recorded and performed on a Jazz Bass. The new Player Series, Fender`s latest attempt at retaking the middle-class throne, has four Jazz Bass options, with this one being the basic, standard. Main features include a solid and flat alder body (six solid and one sunburst color option), bolt-on maple neck (modern C profile), 20-fret fingerboard (depending on the body color, the fingerboard is made of maple or pau ferro), Player Series Jazz pickups (passive, Alnico 5, J/J configuration), four-saddled hardtail bridge, and open-gear tuning machines.

I got this about a week ago only had to do minor tweaking. I originally bought it to upgrade it I don't think ill be upgrading at all now I think I may keep her just as she is. I swapped out strings for daddario nyxl 45105 and wow does she sing now!!! I absolutely love this bass!! I have the player series jazz that has 3 tone sunburst with pau ferro fretboard (originally had white pick guard but I changed that too as soon as I got it to tortoise shell pickguard) im no newbie either to playing bass ive been playing over 30 years so yeah I have a good idea about whats half decent in a bass and what isn't. and this fender player series is a really good bass hands down.
