EPIPHONE LES PAUL SPECIAL II REVIEW
Electric Guitar by 'Epiphone'
Not a very good choice, Epiphone didn't hit the target with Les Paul Special II. A lots of features missing or not done the way most musicians would like, and the price is not attracting people to buy this guitar either.
Basswood body
Bolt-on neck mahogany neck
Rosewood with dot inlays fretboard
pickups: 2 open-coil humbuckers
Tone, volume, and pickup switch
Chrome (black on wine red finish) hardware
Epiphone could throw in a bit more features into Les Paul Special II but this guitar is definitely a useable musical instrument. Wether it's the price cut, or Epiphone felt that simplicity is the virtue, Les Paul Special II is built around a limited set of features that one needs to investigate and see if it fits the need. Not a best equipped instrument, but Les Paul Special II will please some musicians well.
You could find a better fitted guitar, but Les Paul Special II is ready to be played by any musician willing to take time and adjust it to his/her needs. Epiphone built a guitar that has nice finish but it lack something that would make it feel even better. Guitar stays in tune reasonably well, if you don't force it too much, and the Les Paul Special II's neck is playable.
If you're happy with Epiphone's Les Paul Special II overall performance and characteristics, you can consider it to be a replacement guitar for your gigs. Even if used as only guitar Les Paul Special II will perform, but don't overrate it and always try and find a backup. It is a solid guitar that will last long and perform well if you treat it right.
