GODIN A6 ULTRA HG SEMI-ACOUSTIC REVIEW
Electric Guitar by 'Godin'
Not a very good choice, Godin didn't hit the target with A6 Ultra HG Semi-Acoustic. A lots of features missing or not done the way most musicians would like, and the price is not attracting people to buy this guitar either.
Mahogany neck
Indian rosewood fretboard
Two-chambered silver leaf maple body
pickups: Godin humbucker & epm under saddle transducer pick-ups
A lots of people would like to see more features in Godin's A6 Ultra HG Semi-Acoustic as it hangs low in features compared to other guitars. Some musicians are disappointed with features that A6 Ultra HG Semi-Acoustic provides, but not everybody feels that way. Overall feel is that Godin could threw in a bit more in this guitar and make it a more versatile instrument.
There are, definitely, better sounding guitars then Godin's A6 Ultra HG Semi-Acoustic, but this guitar stands up to instruments in it's category when it comes to tone it delivers. It needs to be fiddled with to make it sound right, you don't get the tone that's larger then life right away, but it will play and sound OK the way it is. Godin could go a bit further and make it sound richer, as it doesn't sound as cool as one feels it should.
There were some drawbacks that made A6 Ultra HG Semi-Acoustic perform worst then it's competing guitar models, and finish is perhaps one of them. It's just not promising. Playing this instrument may discover some more weaknesses. Not too reliable model by Godin could do far better if they've put some more time and effort into details.
Godin's A6 Ultra HG Semi-Acoustic is not a guitar you would want to play in a live situation. If you own a A6 Ultra HG Semi-Acoustic and want to perform, it's better to borrow another guitar and have yours as a replacement. It's a guitar with it's limits that should be concerned before you depend upon it in.
