YAMAHA PAC012 REVIEW
Electric Guitar by 'Yamaha'
Not a very good choice, Yamaha didn't hit the target with PAC012. A lots of features missing or not done the way most musicians would like, and the price is not attracting people to buy this guitar either.
Solid agathis body
Maple neck
Rosewood fretboard
pickups: One humbucker/2 single-coil
Chrome tuners
Yamaha could throw in a bit more features into PAC012 but this guitar is definitely a useable musical instrument. Wether it's the price cut, or Yamaha felt that simplicity is the virtue, PAC012 is built around a limited set of features that one needs to investigate and see if it fits the need. Not a best equipped instrument, but PAC012 will please some musicians well.
You could find a better fitted guitar, but PAC012 is ready to be played by any musician willing to take time and adjust it to his/her needs. Yamaha built a guitar that has nice finish but it lack something that would make it feel even better. Guitar stays in tune reasonably well, if you don't force it too much, and the PAC012's neck is playable.
If you're happy with Yamaha's PAC012 overall performance and characteristics, you can consider it to be a replacement guitar for your gigs. Even if used as only guitar PAC012 will perform, but don't overrate it and always try and find a backup. It is a solid guitar that will last long and perform well if you treat it right.
