Viper 104 model is one of the basic four-stringers in the Viper series and it comes with a solid, double-cut body made of basswood. Basswood is the standard tonewood for the entry level basses in ESP and LTD catalog and it replaces alder and mahogany used on upscale models. Ash is also frequently used for LTD basses. There are no excessive decorations on this model, as it is firmly dedicated to the beginners and their practice and learning. Nevertheless, Viper 104 does have a very nice tone and reliable construction. Standard four-saddled bridge is installed on top of the body and it is fronted with a pair of humbucking pickups with a standard controls unit. Maple neck is bolted to the body and topped with a 21-fret rosewood fingerboard.

i got this bass mad cheap from a mate ($100) and oh my god am i happy with it! went from a terrible status silhouette series (heard of it, i still havent seen another one) to this, and the difference is staggering! im only a beginnerish (8 months) but this bass just feels so good to play! sounds great! and even though the EQ is relatively basic (lows and mids i think) its a great introduction to switching on the fly
