G&L brand was constituted in the late '70s by Leo Fender and George Fullerton after Leo Fender stopped designing instruments for Music Man. The aim of this brand since it`s inception is the pursuit of the ultimate quality in their instruments. Since G&L models are produced in relatively small quantities, considerable level of customization is available. Today, after both Leo Fender and George Fullerton have passed away, G&L brand holds on to their immense legacy and follows the path they paved. This time around, G&L introduce a new model to the USA ASAT Classic series, it is a T-style ASAT Classic Alnico.
G&L USA ASAT Classic Alnico is a Telecaster-shaped guitar with classic single cutaway design. Construction-wise, it is a solid-bodied guitar with bolt-on neck joint. Main feature on this model are it`s pickups. Designed by Leo Fender himself, these alnico pickups give bucket loads of strength and sustain and are configured in traditional Tele pattern. Bridge pickup is slanted and surrounded by bridge plate. Master volume, master tone and three-position blade switch comprise the controls unit. Bridge is fixed and features six saddles. Alder is used for bodies with standard finishes and swamp ash is for premium ones. Sugar pine is reserved for a special limited run named Launch Edition. Hard rock maple neck features medium C contour and it is topped with either a rosewood or maple fingerboard. 22 frets with dot inlays are featured on both.
