Ibanez is updating theier catalog with four brand new models. One signature bass, one hollow bodied electric guitar and two acoustics.
From entry level guitars and basses to high end instruments, name it, Ibanez got it. The range of models in the catalog is just staggering. This time, Ibanez brings forth four brand new models and two with updated color options. New instruments come from various sides of the catalog: six-string GVB36 comes from Gerald Veasley line of signature basses, AF85TDG is situated within the AF series of hollow bodied guitars, AW70 and AW50 are newcomers from the Artwood Traditional series. Semi-acoustic AS93 is updated with violin sunburst color and AC300 with cherry sunburst and light violin sunburst.
Ibanez GVB36 is a new signature model for a bass legend, Gerald Veasley. This is the second six-stringer in his line, and this time it comes with a solid, double cutaway body made of alder back and flamed maple top. Bartolini passive humbuckers sit in both the bridge and neck positions. They are accompanied by a six-saddle monorail bridge with cosmo black plating. The neck on this bass is made of three pieces of maple and topped with a rosewood fingerboard. 24 frets are medium in size and feature oval abalone inlays. 34" scale, cosmo black hardware and 12" fingerboard radius complete the specs. Secod novelty in line is a fully hollow electric guitar from AF series, the AF85TDG. It comes with a single cutaway and a body made entirely of flamed maple. Together with mahogany/maple neck, it forms a fantastic foundation for active Ibanez humbuckers to fully unleash their potential. Bridge on this model is made up of tune-o-matic styled bridge and bigsby VBF70 vibrato with a trapezoid tailpiece. Ibanez AW70 is one of two acoustic novelties this time. It is a budget-friendly model from Artwood Traditional series which brings solid spruce top into the entry level class of guitars. This non-cutaway dreadnought comes with sapele back and sides and mahogany neck. The fingerboard is made of rosewood, as well as the bridge, and it features 20 frets with dot inlays. 25-1/2" scale, chrome hardware and plastic pickguard complete the specs list. Ibanez AW50 is the second update for acoustic Artwood Traditional series. It comes in natural gloss color with a non-cutaway dreadnought body. sapele backs and sides are combined with a solid spruce top, which is a novelty for the entry level models. The bridge and fingerboard are both made of rosewood and feature Ivorex II saddle and string nut, respectively.
