El Capitan is one of two models in the EL series in Epiphone`s bass segment of the catalog. El Capitan is an acoustic-electric bass based entirely on the J-200 acoustic guitar body. Back and sides, as well as the top are made of maple, which spells a punchy, bright and lively tone with a lot of strength and sustain. Currently, Vintage Sunburst is the only color option in the palette. It is finished in gloss and has chrome-plated hardware. On the top, there`s a fixed rosewood bridge with plastic saddle and belly contour. eSonic pickup is concealed under the saddle and Epiphone matches it with a side-mounted preamp. Set in maple neck is fit with a slim taper contour in the back and a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top.
