Artist series` tier 80 is one of five basic tiers, along with 30, 60, 70, and 90. 80 is the top tier for steel-stringed acoustics, while the 90 is reserved for ukulele models. Some of the main characteristics of this tier are combined solid/laminated body construction, A+ grade tops, forward-shifted X bracing, stock hardware, and LR Baggs electronics (on amplified models). AJ80CE-12 is the only currently available 12-string Artist model. It costs $799 (MSRP) and is available only in Natural (w/gloss finish, abalone rosette, chrome-plated hardware). Main specs include maple back & sides (laminated), Sitka spruce top (ABS binding, black pickguard), mahogany neck (standard contour, 14th fret joint), 21-fret rosewood fingerboard (12th fret inlay, 1-3/4" bone nut, 25-1/2" scale), rosewood bridge, and die-cast tuners.
