DYM85 is a model from the Yairi Masterworks series of hand-made guitars by Kazuo Yairi. They are made in his shop in Japan. Through Alvarez, these guitars are offered to the world wide market and they also figure as some of the most luxurious guitars Alvarez can offer. DYM85 is a dreadnought with non-cutaway design and fully acoustic construction. Body of this guitar is made of kihada back and sides with spruce sound board on top. Top panel has a plastic pickguard and double circle rosette, but there is no binding around the edges of the sound board. Body and neck are left in natural color and finished in satin. Bridge is made of ebony. Mahogany-made neck is attached to the body with a 14th fret dovetail joint and topped with a 20-fret ebony fingerboard.
