Alvarez maintains a wide range of steel and nylon-stringed guitars in their catalog. Though an American brand, many of their standard series models are built in factories in China, while the top-tier Alvarez-Yairi models are built personally by Kazuo Yairi in his private shop in Japan. One of standard series is Professional and it is the home for PD511, the non-cutaway dreadnought with steel strings. Back and sides on this model are made of rosewood, while the top is made of spruce. Top is bound in abalone and maple binding and equipped with a black plastic pickguard. Bridge on this model sports a standard Alvarez shape, and is made of rosewood. Fingerboard on this model is made of rosewood and it comes with 20 frets with flower pot inlays.
