Fender Guitars are more commonly associated with electric guitars in every day life, but their acoustic lines are as successful as their electric counterparts. January 2013 brings the NAMM show in Anaheim, the most important event of the year and that`s where Fender opted to unveil the acoustic guitar updates. This time, Fender overhauls the high-end section and unveils a brand new series. It`s name is Collector`s Custom and it is currently comprised of five models. These are all acoustic-electric and feature special paint jobs. Fender has selected three young airbrush artists to paint the five models of this series and Joe Wood with his Dia De Los Muertos Dread is one of them. This dread comes with non-cutaway construction and it`s made of mahogany back and sides with a solid, flat spruce top. Bridge is made of rosewood and it`s equipped with bone nut. Fishman Matrix pickup system is featured in the electronics area. Neck on this model is made of mahogany, it sports C contour in the back and a rosewood fingerboard on the top. Fingerboard is equipped with 20 frets, block inlays, 1.7" bone nut and 10" radius. Vintage tuners and 25-5/8" scale are also featured on this model.
