J-45 Standard is Gibson`s workhorse acoustic-electric guitar. It comes with the supreme quality of build and very modern set of features and appointments. Body of this mighty dreadnought is fully hollow and comes in a non-cutaway style. It is made of mahogany back and sides with a spruce sound board on top. Creme binding around the top, tortoise shell pickguard (white on the Goldtop and Pelham Blue versions) and a discrete sound hole rosette decorate the body of this six-stringed powerhouse of tone. Vintage Sunburst, Wine Red, Goldtop and Pelham Blue offer enough diversity to suit most of the players out there. All four are finished in gloss lacquer and feature nickel-plated hardware. Rosewood bridge with TUSQ saddle and plastic string pins is installed on the top, while beneath the sound board Gibson installs the hugely popular L. R. Baggs element pickup and preamp combo. This system has proven it`s worth with countless Gibson acoustics before and is a perfect match for the J-45 Standard. Mahogany neck is rounded and very comfortable, though it might take some time to get used to, if you`re switching directly from a modern electric guitar. 20-fret rosewood fingerboard has a 12" radius, dot inlays and a 1.725" wide graphite nut. Grover tuners (Gotoh on the Goldtop) complete the specs list.
