Though known for their full-sized acoustic and electric guitars, as well as the fondness of modern technologies, Godin makes some of the finest mandolins on North American market (including both US and Canadian brands).
A8 is the latest eight-string addition to the A series roster. This is a standard-sized mandolin with Multiac/A series design. Construction-wise, it is a crossbreed between the Multiac and standard mandolin (mahogany body is split into two chambers and the neck is bolted to the body). Solid spruce sound board completes the body, while the 24-fret ebony fingerboard tops the neck.
Set of four individual transducer pickups is installed in the bridge (one transducer per string saddle) and paired with a preamp. Fixed ebony bridge and vintage tuners complete the specs list.
