Oud is an instrument with a long tradition and rich history in the east, especially in the regions once owned by Persian and Turkish empires. It was introduced to the western world some centuries ago, but until recently, this instrument remained largely unknown for people other than string-instrument enthusiasts. Godin Guitars produce their own model named MultiOud as it`s classic concept is crossed with Multiac. Back and side panels are bowl-shaped and made of mahogany, while the top is made of spruce. In the bridge section Godin installs a regular shaped bridge made of ebony. There are no electronics on this MultiOud. Neck is made of mahogany and it is topped with an ebony fingerboard. This eleven-stringed instrument features 16 frets with no position inlays, whatsoever.
