JG-615 belongs to the Player series of acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars made by Johnson Guitars. This series deals with beginner level of steel-stringers and is assigned a wide range of models, which come with dreadnought and 000 body contours. JG-615 is a non-cutaway dreadnought guitar with fully acoustic construction and it`s also advertised by Johnson Guitars as the only solid-top steel-stringer in it`s price range. Laminated whitewood and solid spruce sound board on top comprise the body of this dread. Johnson makes it only in natural color with high gloss finish. Bridge section on this model is equipped with a standard belly-contoured rosewood bridge. Neck is made of mahogany and it features a 14th fret dovetail joint. It`s topped with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard.
