Limited Edition Acoustic-Electric Guitars by Martin
Martin Guitars have a long tradition of acoustic and acoustic-electric guitar production, and they are among selected few brands which set the trends for other manufacturers. Their Limited edition Series is full of exotic woods and luxurious features accompanied by top-notch craftsmanship. 2012 NAMM Show saw five brand new limited models from Martin. One of them is CS-D18-12 which will only be made in 125 copies for world wide distribution. This D18 starts off with a non-cutaway slope-shoulder dreadnought body made of solid Sinker mahogany back and sides and solid spruce top. The top comes bound in solid Madagascar rosewood binding, and also features black and white fiber sound hole rosette. Pickguards are omitted from the specs. This model is available in natural color with gloss finish. The bridge is made of solid ebony with black string pins and fossilized ivory saddle. There are no electronics for this guitar, but optionally, if a customer desires so, it can be installed. The neck is made of solid mahogany and features a special, hand-carved contour with a dovetail joint set at the 12th fret. The ebony fingerboard has 19 frets, abalone dot inlays and 1-3/4" wide fossilized ivory string nut. The MSRP is set at $6,499.
