EG430S-WR is a new model for 2012 and it is situated within the Takamine` budget friendly G NEX series. It was introduced at the NAMM 2012 Show and it aims at musicians who want a good sounding acoustic-electric guitar without having to mortgage their house. EG430S-WR is a non-cutaway NEX model with a body made of flamed maple back and sides and solid cedar top. Cedar is, along with spruce, the most popular top wood for acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars. The top is bound in white and features a teardrop shaped pickguard. This model, as it`s name says, is available only in wine red color with glossy finish. The bridge on this NEX is made of rosewood and features a belly shape with white string pins and white plastic saddle. Electronics consist of an under-saddle piezo pickup and TP4T preamp with on-board controls. Controls consist of bass, mid and treble sliders, gain knob and a chromatic tuner with LED display. Battery compartment is also built onto the control panel. The fingerboard is made of rosewood and equipped with 20 frets and small dot inlays. The MSRP for EG430S-WR is set at $799.99.
