For every Spring and Fall season Taylor`s luthiers prepare some special models in Limited Edition section. This Spring 300 series acoustic-electrics are equipped with Hawaiian koa bodies. The lineup consists of six models, four steel-stringers and two nylon-stringers. 314ce-LTD comes with a grand auditorium body with a cutaway. Backs and sides are made of koa and covered with a spruce top. Body is bound in black binding around the top as well as the back panel. Other body features include tortoise shell pickguard and a triple circle rosette around the sound hole. This model is available in natural color with combined satin and gloss finish. The neck is made of tropical mahogany and attached to the body with a dovetail joint, which is a standard Taylor feature. The non-standard feature on the neck is a scarf joint between the neck and headstock. Upon this neck an ebony fingerboard is installed. It comes with 20 frets, dot position inlays, 1.75" wide string nut and 15" radius. The electronics on this 314 are made up of Taylor`s own Expression System combo. It includes an under-saddle pickup, preamp and a side-mounted control panel. The bridge comes with ebony string pins and belly shape. 25-1/2" scale and chrome plated Taylor tuners complete the list of specs. The MSRP is set at $2,898.
