APX series contains high quality acoustic-electric guitars and it is currently equipped with eight models. APX900 is one of them and it represents the upper middle class in the series with it`s grand auditorium-shaped body with single cutaway. This model comes only in natural color with high gloss polish finish. Back and side panels are made of maple, while the top is made of spruce. This combo is a very popular one, but still ranks below the mahogany/spruce. Bridge section is equipped with a Yamaha standard shaped bridge made of rosewood. In the electronics area Yamaha combines the under-saddle piezo pickup with a piezo preamp. Neck is made of maple and it sports a dovetail joint set at the 14th fret. Rosewood fingerboard is equipped with 22 frets with crown position inlays.
