Artwood is one of the main pillars of Ibanez`s acoustic catalog. Its role is the pursuit of the ultimate guitar tone and one of the latest methods introduced was the Thermo Aged (torrefaction) process. Artwood Vintage Thermo Aged is the name of the series dedicated to the Artwood acoustics with aged wood components. AVD9MH is one of six Thermo Aged models introduced at 2017 NAMM (unlike the rest it is not a reissue of a 2016 model). It starts off with a non-cutaway body made entirely of mahogany (only the top is aged). It is paired with a V-contoured mahogany neck (with a standard 20-fret rosewood fingerboard on top). Other important features include rosewood bridge (with bone saddle and Advantage string pins), open-geared tuners and bone string nut.
