Artwood Vintage Thermo Aged Acoustic Guitars by Ibanez
AVN9 is one of six models of the new Artwood Vintage Thermo Aged series. ThermoAged line is the latest in a long line of Artwood sub-series. It is centered around acoustic models with aged tonewoods. The process itself takes place in vacuum, where the wood is heated. The result is a lighter, dried-up wood with decomposed resin. Guitars made of this wood sound as if they`ve been made 30, 40, 50 years ago. Thermo Aged models come in two tiers; "10" models have aged back and top, while the "9" models only feature aged tops.
AVN9 kicks off with a non-cutaway parlor body (letter N in its name stands for New Yorker, as this body shape is alternatively known) made of mahogany. Solid top (aged) and laminated back and sides comprise the body. Elegant and discreet black binding is featured on both back and top. The neck is made of mahogany, as well. It comes with a 12th fret dovetail joint and a soft-V profile in the back. On its top, there is an 18-fret rosewood fingerboard (1.77" bone nut, dot inlays, 15.75" radius). Other major features include: die-cast tuners, rosewood bridge and X bracing.
