Luna`s Fauna series draws inspiration from Fauna, the Roman goddess of fertility, earth and animals and it`s models are each dedicated to one animal, real or mythical. For 2012, Luna Guitars assigned one new model to Fauna series, and it is a Koi. The Koi starts off as a folk-shaped acoustic-electric guitar with a cutaway. The body of this model is made of mahogany back and sides and spruce top. Upon the black painted top, koi fish inlay is laid, the same one as on Oracle Koi model, but here done in abalone. This inlay is complemented by a crescent moon sound hole rosette, also done in abalone. The bridge on this model is made of ebony, and is equipped with black string pins and white saddle. This bridge shares a common shape with a majority of bridges on Luna acoustics. The electronics consist of B-band pickup and a preamp. The side mounted preamp control panel contains a volume knob, phase switch, three-band equalizer and a tuner. The neck is, as it is common for Luna models, made of mahogany and connected to the body at the 14th fret. The ebony fingerboard features 20 frets, moon phase inlays and 1.6252" nut width. 25-1/2" scale and chrome plated hardware complete the specs.
