Martin Guitars is a brand of long tradition and immeasurable legacy in the world of modern music and modern acoustic guitar. Some of the most popular and influential models, body shapes and innovations throughout the last 100 years came directly from Martin Guitars. In a similar way, Eric Clapton, for whom this model is made, has influenced blues and rock music in past 40-50 years. His melodies, solos, playing style and songs have become the integral part of the music heritage and have spawned thousands upon thousands of players throughout the decades. For the Summer NAMM 2013, Martin and Eric Clapton join forces to introduce the elite 000-28 EC model. It costs $4,599 for Natural variant and $4,849 for the Sunburst variant. Body of this model is made of solid tonewoods and it features the non-cutaway 000 shape. Solid east Indian rosewood is used for the back and sides, while the top is made of top quality spruce. Grained ivoroid binding, tortoise shell pickguard and vintage triple-circle rosette decorate the top. Belly-contoured bridge on this model is made of solid ebony and it features bone saddle. There are no electronics installed within the body, or on the side of this exquisite steel-stringer, they`re offered optionally. Beneath the top, Martin installs the standard scalloped X bracing made of solid sitka spruce. Neck on this model is made of select hardwood and it features the modified V contour in the back. On it`s top, there`s a standard 20-fret fingerboard made of ebony. 1-3/4" wide bone nut, diamond & square inlays with Eric`s signature inlay at the 20th fret and 16" radius complete the fingerboard. Nickel-plated Gotoh tuners, 24-9/10" scale and glossy finish over both the Natural and Sunburst color schemes wrap the specs list for this model.
