Custom Artist Series Acoustic Guitars by Martin
Exclusive selection of tonewoods, revolutionary new system of wood aging and 180 years of tradition and experience in guitar making are the main ingredients of the new C. F. Martin Custom Shop models prepared for 2015. These super exclusive six-stringers are made in very limited quantities and are expensive, even by Martin standards (OM-45 De Luxe Authentic 1930 costs whooping $99,999.00). CS-00041-15 costs $9.999.00 and is one of five novelties with the already famous VTS system. Basically, what VTS is, it is a tonewood aging process which includes the heating and drying techniques in order to stabilize and dry the wood cells, to make them more rigid and give them that sought after "played in" tone. Solid cocobolo back and sides are combined with a VTS Adirondack spruce sound board. No specific period or era were targeted on this model. Standard ebony bridge is fixed on the top and is accompanied by a triple circle rosette, tortoise pickguard and flamed Hawaiian koa binding. Genuine mahogany neck rocks the 14th fret dovetail joint and is topped with a 20-fret ebony fingerboard. Gold-plated tuners, 24-9/10" scale and a 1-3/4" bone nut are also featured.
