Standard Series Acoustic Guitars by Martin
Standard Series Acoustic Guitars by Martin
The mighty dreadnought, named after a class of battleships, was introduced by C.F. Martin more than 100 years ago (in 1916, to be precise). Today, dread is still the most important body shape made by Martin, as well as the most recognizable and the most popular steel-string body shape. HDC-28E (2018) is one of over twenty "Reimagined" members of the Standard series made for 2018 model year. It comes in at $3,999.00, which is a pretty standard fare for Martin`s Standard line. Main features include a single-cut dreadnought body (solid East Indian rosewood back & sides, solid Sitka spruce soundboard, Sitka spruce bracing), select hardwood neck (modified low oval profile, 14th fret dovetail joint), 20-fret ebony fingerboard (25.4" scale, 1.75" bone nut), ebony bridge, and open-gear tuners. Players can choose between Fishman and LR Baggs electronics.
