Among the tone woods used for single tone wood guitars, mahogany is the number one. Maple is also very popular and koa, as well. But, koa is very expensive, thus being reserved for very rare and exclusive models. Mahogany, on the other hand is affordable and has great tonal properties. Rogue`s Honduran Mahogany Dreadnought model comes with non-cutaway design and the entire body made of Honduran mahogany. Top panel is equipped with single-ply binding, tortoise shell pickguard and triple circle rosette. This model`s vintage theme is completed with die-cast tuners arranged in three-a-side pattern on the headstock. Bridge on this model is made of rosewood and it sports a characteristic belly contour. Mahogany-made neck is topped with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard.

I bought mine in 2006, still have and still play it nearly all the time. Beautiful sound and excellent playability. Craftsmanship is excellent, clean evenly carved braces, very little glue residue anywhere. It's 11 years old now and the sound has deepen slightly with age, the finish has also lost a little of its reddish tint. Other than changing the tuners to Grovers and replacing the pickguard with one from a Gibson J-185, I the guitar is still stock. Too bad this model isn't made anymore, it was a great bargain.
