FG-TA is one of four available models of the recently established TransAcoustic series made by Yamaha. It is a dreadnought-shaped steel-stringer w/a non-cutaway body (solid spruce top, mahogany back/sides), 14th fret neck joint, 25-9/16" scale, Yamaha`s own SYSTEM70 electronics, high-quality hardware, and somewhat conservative styling. The main feature of the TransAcoustic series is the preamp w/built-in reverb and chorus effects which render outside effect pedals/processors obsolete. The color palette of the FG-TA dreadnought (named Traditional Western Design Body on Yamaha`s site) include Natural, Black, Brown Sunburst, and Vintage Tint. Other notable features include a smooth nato neck, 20-fret fingerboard made of rosewood (25-9/16" scale, 1-11/16" nut), rosewood bridge, and die-cast chrome tuners.
