GC31 belongs to the GC series of nylon-stringed guitars made by Yamaha. It comes with a standard, non-cutaway designed body. All of the classical guitars have standardized body shape, some with a cutaway and some without it. Also, natural color with gloss finish dominates as almost only color option available for classical guitars. This model is no excuse. Back and side panels on this Yamaha are made of rosewood and the top is made of spruce. Natural binding and the classical rosette complete the top panel specs. Bridge section on this model is equipped with a standard shaped bridge made of rosewood. Neck is made of mahogany and it features a dovetail joint set at the 12th fret. Ebony-made fingerboard is equipped with 19 frets and flat radius.
