AVB-4005/M is a maple half of the AVB-4005/M/R pair. M, of course stands for maple fingerboard, while R marks the one with rosewood fingerboard. Other than fingerboard materials, these two models are one and the same.
AVB-4005/M starts off with a solid and double-cut ash body and a one-piece maple neck. The body and the neck are connected through a five-bolt joint (one more than standard four bolts). The neck features a fast profile in the back and a 24-fret maple fingerboard on top. Electronics section are the highlight of the AVB series. 4005 models rock dual Nordstrand Big Single pickups with variable passive/active electronics. Other major features include a five-saddled hardtail bridge and die-cast tuners (both made by Gotoh).
