As opposed to the Metalman series of electric basses, Edge series features a more conventional approach to guitar design. Modern double-cut body is the main theme of this series and it`s main task is to compete with intermediate Japanese models (most notably Ibanez SR series and ESP models). The series is opened with the Edge 1 model. It is a solid-bodied and double-cut four-stringer with a flat-top basswood body. Edge 1 is available in various solid colors with gloss finish and chrome hardware. On it`s top, Dean installs the standard hardtail bridge with four saddles. In it`s front, there are two humbucking pickups, which feature the series standard controls unit. Neck of this model is made of maple and it features a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
