Throughout his career Nate played a 1971 Precision Bass more than any other model. From hard core punk beginnings to Foo Fighters and many bands in between, his trusty '71 P Bass was his main weapon. Today Fender decides to honor this P Bass veteran with his own signature Precision. Made for fall of 2012, Nate Mendel P Bass is based upon the '71 Precision Bass and comes with a solid, double cut body made of ash. Body is made with recognizable P contour. Flat, solid, unbound and without a top wood veneer, body of this model is only equipped with a classic black pickguard. It is only available in Candy Apple Red with nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Bridge section on this model is equipped with Leo Quan Bad Ass II bridge with chrome plating. This bridge is equipped with top-load construction. There`s only one pickup installed on this model, it is a Seymour Duncan SPB-3 Quarter-Pound pickup with P-pickup configuration. Controls include master volume and master tone knobs. Neck on this model is made of maple and it`s equipped with a slim C contour in the back. It`s bolted to the body and finished in lacquer. Fingerboard is made of rosewood and it`s equipped with 20 medium jumbo frets, dot position inlays, 7.25" radius and 1.61" wide synthetic bone string nut. Scale measures standard 34" and hardware is plated in chrome.
