Jazz Bass is one of two essential four-stringers in Fender`s history. It was introduced back in the 1960s and has been in the production ever since. With more treble and edgier tone than Precision, Jazz was envisioned as an instrument for bassists who like to be in the front and heard, instead of just supporting the groove from the back. Today, Jazz is one of three most popular basses in the world and the Fender Standard series model serves as the starting point for comparison of other Jazz Basses. It comes with a solid alder body in combination with maple neck. Four-saddle bridge is fronted with a pair of Jazz pickups with standard controls unit. Maple neck sports the C contour in the back and a 20-fret fingerboard on the top.
