Fret King`s Black Label was launched at the Winter NAMM 2012 in Anaheim, Ca. It consists of twelve models, ten electric guitars and two electric basses. It has a role of performance oriented series in the catalog, as well as the budget friendly one. One of it`s two basses is Perception 4 String with a body design somewhere between Jazz and Precision with it`s double cutaway and offset waist. IT`s body is made of two pieces of alder. There are no fancy bindings, or carved top woods, just a plain, flat top with a plastic pickguard. Black, vintage white and classic burst are color options for this Perception bass, and they all come with gloss finish. The bridge is a Wilkinson four-saddle with top-load construction and chrome plating. Pickups for this bass are made and supplied by Wilkinson. In the bridge position there is a jazz styled pickup, and in the middle position is a p-styled pickup. They are controlled through Master volume and two tone controls. Neck is made of Canadian hard rock maple with a rosewood fingerboard on top. The fingerboard is equipped with 22 medium jumbo frets, dot position inlays, graphite nut and 10" radius. 34" scale and Wilkinson tuners conclude the specs list. The MSRP is set at around $950.
