Gary Willis Electric Bass Guitars by Ibanez
Gary Willis is one of the jazz legends and true masters of the craft when it comes to the fretless basses. Fretless ones are hard to master, but make it up on the other side, as they offer so much more than their fretted counterparts. Mr Willis has played them for a long, long time and even his signature Ibanez basses have fretless fingerboards. GVB1005 comes with a solid and double-cut body made of ash (ash is popular tonewood with jazz guitarists, for it has a brighter tone than the mahogany and similar tonewoods). On top of the body, there is a five-saddled bridge and a bridge-positioned humbucking pickup. Neck is made of three pieces of maple and is bolted to the body. Ebony fingerboard is featured on the top.
