1400 is an intermediate tier within the Premium class of Ibanez Sound Gear series. It represents a standard, a benchmark and perfectly depicts what SR Premium instruments bring to the table. Carefully selected tonewoods, top notch electronics, high quality hardware (superior to hardware used on the standard SR models) and classy styling are to be expected. 2016 SR1400 models deliver on all fronts, easily blowing the competition out of the water. SR1400E is the four-string option. It brings a stunningly beautiful double-cut SR body, gold-plated hardware, passive Nordstrand electronics, full 34" scale and gorgeous abalone fret markers. SR1400E starts off with a standard double-cut body contour, bolted neck and full 24-fret fingerboard. The body is made of mahogany base and flamed maple top (carved, made of two matching pieces). It is paired with a five-piece bubinga/wenge neck with Atlas-4 profile in the back. Rosewood fingerboard on top of the neck is outfitted with medium-sized frets, comfortable 12" radius and narrow 1.50 string nut. Nordstrand`s "Big Single" pickups occupy the bridge and middle pickups positions. Three-band EQ and frequency switches highlight the transformation capabilities of these fat singles. Monorail bridge and deluxe tuners complete the specs list.
