Maranello series is a line of both electric guitars and basses produced by Italia Guitars. Italia is one of the most interesting and exotic brands out there. It`s series and models are named after beautiful Italian cities and towns, while it`s headquarters are located in UK and production facilities in eastern Asia. Maranello concept is based on the legendary Les Paul, with added European touch to it`s styling. Maranello Classic Bass is one of three four-stringers in Maranello line and it comes with a solid, single-cut agathis body. On it`s top, there are two active humbucking pickups with a vintage tone (two volume and one tone control knobs are installed on an elegant oval pickguard) and a wrap-around hardtail bridge. Maple neck is bolted to the body and it`s topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.

I have been playing Bass for 25 years and have had a Japanese Fender Jazz and and a US precision. For a laugh I purchased an Italia Maranello Classic bass in blue sparkle and I was surprised at the build quality and the sound and playability for the price. It has a thin neck which is great for my short fingers and it has a sound that sits in between the Jazz and Precision. Its a cool talking point and for half the cost of a name brand bass I would recommend it for a player who is moving out of the beginner phase!
