Studio guitars were introduced into the Gibson USA catalog in 1980s, some twenty years after the period this model pays homage to. It actually represents what Gibson`s luthiers envision when someone asks how would Les Paul Studio look if it was introduced in the 1960s. Solid single-cut body is made of mahogany back and plain maple top. Worn Ebony, Worn Cherry and Worn Honey Burst comprise the color palette of this model. All are finished in nitrocellulose lacquer. Traditional tune-o-matic bridge on this model is paired with a stoptail bar. Pair of P-90 single coil pickups is installed in the front. They feature cream-colored plastic covers and standard controls unit. Set in mahogany neck is equipped with period correct slim taper contour in the back and 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on top.
