Mahogany is one of the dominant tonewoods in the guitar industry. It is used on acoustic guitars, electric guitars, basses and folk instruments. Along with mahogany, alder, maple and rosewood can also be considered major tonewood options. Bodies of solid electrics are mostly divided between mahogany and alder, with basswood, ash and poplar also having significant shares. AXL`s Mahogany series comes with two electric guitars with all-mahogany construction. Jacknife is the first of two models and it features the classic AXL v design. Flat top, big white pickguard and natural color scheme with gloss finish are hallmarks of Jacknife design. Tune-o-matic bridge on this model is fronted by a pair of active single-coil pickups. Mahogany neck is topped with a 22-fret fingerboard made of rosewood.
