i have one of the rarer blue bich masterpiece guitars and it is of really high quality unlike the more common ( and newer) "dragonsblood" (red) and tobacco burst which are horrible. according to the guys at bc rich the trans blue masterpiece were all made in korea and had a qulited maple top cap not a thin sheet of veneer. not sure about the "newer" red and blue but they are all shown as "veneer" which makes me think thin sheet of maple for decorative purpouses. so my review is based on the older, rarer trans Blue bich masterpiece, same specs as the newer but better built quality, the only things one MIGHT have issues with ( i dont but some others might) would be pickups which to be honest pups and amp work together so that would be individual preference, stock pots, tone caps, switch etc. again these some might have issues with i personally dont and most of the time i change all of that right off of the bat but with this guitar i didnt and i dont have any regrets not changing them. one issue the bich masterpiece has is weight, the thing is actually quite heavy and is comparable to an UNchambered les paul, now you may be thinkingbut it has that big cut out sectionn, this is true BUT to be fair the lower portion of the body where the bich shape cut away is is alot wider than standard sized guitars ( which is why you need bich specific cases and gig bags) which offsets the weight loss from the cut out. final thoughts? get one of the older blue bich masterpiece ( if you can even find one as they VERY RARLEY come up for sale) and there is a reason they dont come up for sale. the last used one i personally saw was in england and the seller sold it in 09 or 10 and he sold it for $550 ( which was full list), the newer ones are Meh. with that said though, IF you manage to find a trans blue Bich masterpiece for sale snatch it up you wont be disappointed. based on the few instances i have seen of the trans blue ones even coming up for sale expect to pay $300 to $550 this price reflects used guitars with NO case or gig bag and the condition with near mint/pristine bringing full list price.
