CS3 comes with a solid, single cutaway body made of mahogany. Though there`s no top wood cover, top is still carved and it`s finished in satin lacquer. Being the base model of the single cut line, CS3 features no bindings or pickguards. In the bridge section, Carvin`s first choice is tune-o-matic bridge with string-through construction, though a stoptail bar, tremolo bridge and other options are also available. Carvin installs a pair of their own humbuckers on this model and the controls unit consists of: volume, tone with push/pull switch and three-way toggle switch. Neck is made of mahogany and it features a set-in joint. Fingerboard material is ebony and it comes with: 22 medium jumbo frets, dot position inlays, 12" radius and 1.69" wide string nut.
