FG1 is the basic model of the Frank Gambale signature series built by Carvin. This model is a double-cutaway, semi-hollow bodied guitar with a body made of mahogany back and flamed maple top. The top is carved, arched, finished in gloss and equipped with two "f" holes, one on the either side of the bridge. In the bridge section Carvin installs a tune-o-matic bridge with stoptail bar. Other bridge options are also available. Two humbuckers are installed onto FG1 and they come with fairly simple controls unit: separate volume and tone knobs with a three-way toggle pickup switch. Tone pots also feature push-pull switches. Neck is made of mahogany and it is topped with an ebony fingerboard. 22 vintage sized frets with block inlays wrap the fingerboard.
