MBC1 is the first Matthew Bellamy signature guitar. It is also an affordable one, contrary to the assumption that an artist of Matt`s influence and fame would yield to the custom shop fever. Simple, easy to use, comfortable and supremely well made, this black-clad beauty is a true tone machine. Solis and single-cut body features what might be called a modern take on the classic Telecaster shape. Entire body is made of basswood, ditching the entire "exclusive tonewoods for a signature guitar" in favor of the quality for the money principle. There are no fancy top wood covers, bindings and pickguards. On the top, the bridge section features a classic two-piece bridge more intertwined with the Les Paul heritage, than the Telecaster one. In it`s front, a pair of Mason pickups is installed. A humbucker in the bridge and a single-coil in the neck position make up the pickups combo. These bad boys are more than well equipped to take on any style and genre and they come approved by the axeman of one of the world`s most sonically versatile bands. Maser volume, master tone, three-way toggle pickup switch and a kill button are featured in the controls unit. Maple neck and the body are connected through a standard bolt-on joint which, in combination with the deep cutaway, makes the access to the 22nd fret effortless. 22-fret rosewood fingerboards has no fret markers. Die-cast tuners on the headstock complete the specs list. The MSRP for this super cool Matt Bellamy signature is set at $499.
