MAB7 Classic Black is one of three models introduced into the Michael Angelo Batio signature series for 2013. It is one of two seven stringers and it is also the most affordable model of the three. It comes with a solid, double-cut body made completely of basswood, as opposed to alder used on the more expensive and exclusive models. Despite not having a top wood cover, MAB7 does have a carved top. However, there is no binding, nor there is a pickguard installed on the top. Body of this model also features deep cutaway, bolt-on neck joint and contoured back side. Neck on MAB7 is made of maple and it features the standard C contour in the back. On it`s top, there`s a 24-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Pearl block inlays are featured on the frets and string nut measures 1-7/8" in width. Pickups on MAB7 are DMT Design humbuckers with open-coil design. Master volume, master tone and a three-position blade switch complete the electronics unit. Bridge section on MAB7 is equipped with a seven-saddle Floyd Rose original tremolo bridge. On the opposite side of the 25-1/2" scale Dean installs a locking string nut.
