Les Paul Ultra is a truly unique concept in Epiphone`s catalog and it`s models only wear the Les Paul cloak as a disguise. These tone machines exhibit the most advanced set of electronics ever seen on a guitar with Epiphone logo on the headstock. Chambered mahogany body with flamed maple top, set in mahogany neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard and a rather standard hardware layout compose a chassis for the state of the art electronics department. Two Pro Bucker humbuckers and a Shadow NanoMag pickup behind the 22nd fret comprise the pickups combo. Three volume knobs (NanoMag volume knob is also a selector for pickups-NanoMag/Pickups-NanoMag modes), a master tone and a three-way toggle switch comprise the front controls. 9V battery-powered control panel in the back has bass, treble and gain controls for NanoMag. There are three outputs, Mono, Stereo and USB (with this model, player also gets a copy of Guitar Rig 4). To top it all off, on the bridge pickup ring, Epiphone installs a chromatic tuner with eleven LED lamps, on/off switch (turning on the tuner automatically cancels all output) and three-lamp mode indicator (humbuckers-humbuckers/NanoMag-NanoMag).
