EX is one of two currently active models in the EX series of the ESP catalog. This series offers Explorer-shaped guitars with aggressive ESP styling, modern design and metal-oriented electronics. EX comes with a solid, single-cut body made of mahogany. It is paired with a neck also made of mahogany. On the flat top of the body, ESP installs the classic two-piece bridge unit, consisting of a tune-o-matic bridge in the front and a stoptail bar in the back. Pickups combo in the front is supplied by EMG. It consists of the classic 81 in the bridge and super hot and dirty 60 humbucker in the neck position (classic combo from Metallica`s early days). Set in mahogany neck is topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
