Zach Householder, Whitechapel guitarist and long time ESP fan has finally joined the signature tribe this year. His model, ZH-7 was introduced at the NAMM this January, along with other Whitechapel signatures and the rest of ESP novelties. Ben Savage and Alex Wade have also got their signature seven-stringers this year, and Gabe Crisp got a signature bass. ZH-7 is a solid bodied, double cutaway guitar made of mahogany back and quilted maple top in combination with a maple neck. The body has a deeply carved top and see-thru black satin finish as it`s only color option. The bridge department is occupied by Tonepros locking tune-o-matic bridge with string-through-body construction and black paint. Pickups on this metal machine are EMG81 with extended range in the bridge and EMG707 in the neck position. They are controlled through a layout made up of master volume, master tone and a three-way toggle switch. The neck is made of maple and features a thin U neck contour with neck-through-body construction. The fingerboard is made of ebony with 24 extra jumbo sized frets and a set of block position inlays. String nut measures 1.89" in width with a 25-1/2" scale. ESP locking tuners close the specs list for ZH-7.

This is a great guitar for metal and all things heavy with easy playability. Only minor worries is that the stock toggle switch cannot take much abuse so will need to be replaced fairly soon after purchase and it is quite light which is a more preferential issue. \m/
