American Standard series is known as the epitome of Fender tone and build. The standard among the standards, a true measure of quality and an experience in a league of its own. In recent years, American Standard series has been dominated by some of the finest Strats and Teles ever built, but 2015 brings us something really special. American Standard Strat HSS Shawbucker is the only American Standard series update for 2015. Its key feature is, of course, the marvelous Tim Shaw humbucker - the Shawbucker. It features the reversed zebra coil design and is installed in the bridge position. Two Custom Shop `50s single coils follow in the middle and neck positions. The mighty Shawbucker blends power, precision and clarity into an eclectic mix bound to draw a smile on both the traditional and modern Strat players` faces. Thanks to a special switch, Shawbucker can be used as either a 250k or 500k pickup - or in English, as a single-coil or a humbucker. The rest of the specs of this six-string gem falls under the American Standard series standards. Two-piece body made of ash, a bolt-on maple neck with a modern C profile, 2-point synchronized tremolo bridge with string-through construction, 22-fret fingerboard (traditionally, both the maple and rosewood options are available), synthetic bone nut and sealed tuning machines are featured on this model.
