When in 1970s Telecaster got overhauled and started looking more like it`s main rival, LP, hard rock and metal were rising. Trying to get a piece of action, Fender equipped Tele with stronger pickups and modern looks, result was Telecaster Custom. Road Worn `72 telecaster Custom features a single cut body made of alder. Body is solid, flat and topped only with a pickguard. Neck on this model is made of maple and it`s equipped with a standard C contour. Neck is bolted to the body and it`s topped with a 21-fret fingerboard made of rosewood. Bridge section is equipped with a hardtail bridge with high mass block and string-through construction. In it`s front Fender installs a pair of "Wide Range" active humbucking pickups.
